I am using the latest versions of spark and openfire and get "Server does not support Vcards. Unable to save your vcard" when trying to add an avatar. I tried using a gif, a jpg
Any ideas?

We use Sparkversions 2.5.8 and 2.6.0. And the (about 35) computers run XP, Vista and 7. Java is now 6u26 but problems started already with version 6u25. Server is CentOS 5.4 with Openfire 3.6.4.
When some users select Shutdown on their XP computers the Shutdown process hangs and displays the “End now”.
On Vista and on 7 computers the same thing happens but it instead says “Waiting for Spark”, “This program is preventing Windows...”.
So this happens on all computers with all operating systems and it happens for different Java and different Spark versions. I cannot see anything otherwise on the problem computers that they have in common. Same with the users, they have nothing that’s in common between them. It’s all very random. Although once the problem occurs it stays put. Have had only one user that says the problem went away by itself so I don’t really trust that statement (guess he just used differentcomputers).
I have cleared the Java cache and tried to clear up some other temp stuff but it’s made no difference. Have increased the time that Windows waits for software to close, with registry key HungAppTimeout set to 12sec.
Of these thirty five computers I’d say that half have the problem and half don’t.
Does anyone recognize this? Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might try next?
Hi,
Question, I''ve got two network segments, with a firewall in between, the wildfire service is running on a server on one side, and part of the users using Spark client are on the other side, which ports do I need to open to ensure traffic is possible, and still acceptable on a security level.
In my logging I can see that the client is trying to connect using a varying source port to the server on destination port 5222. But if I only open the destination port towards that server, this does not seem to be enough, however if I open TCP any towards that server, it does work, but I would like to limit this, if possible.
Clients are using secure authentication, don''t know if this makes the job harder or easier...
thanks
Gracias

I am trying to configure for automatic logon without making the user go through the process of clicking though to the 'Use SSO Via GSSAPI' checkbox, in the 'SSO' tab of the Advanced Settings. I'm really trying to avoid making people configure their client for SSO. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this?
When a user logs onto the computer, the following batch file runs to create the spark.properties file with my settings. Unfortunately for them, they just get a logon prompt with the username and chat server filled in, without SSO being enabled.
spark-properties.bat
@echo off

I can see that the new version of SPARK was released last wednesday. Thats really great news for security and java compliance.
http://issues.igniterealtime.org/browse/SPARK
However, I'm unable to find a location for the actual download of the 2.7.0 release. On the official download page it's still the 2.6.3 version listed. Does anyone have a link to spare for the updated Spark download?
Cheers
Ingemar
I am looking to remove some menu options from spark (for example the preferences menu under the Spark menu). Also, I got the latest version VIA SVN. I have disabled the plugin installtion capability. I am using fastpath on my server. When I ant release and run the build from the startup.bat file, I am do not get the fastpath tab. Is there a reason for this, like it is unavailable unless fully compiled? I do have some plugins disabled, but not Fastpath. Any help on how to edit menu options would be greatly appreciated!!
Hello all,
I'm curious to see if anyone else is having this issue:
If you go to view conversation history, it seems to glitch sometimes and not show days...weeks at a time. Some times it will repeat a portion of what you said many times over and over again...
It would be nice to have chat history show exactly what has been said over a certain period of time. Doesn't seem like to much to ask.
The reason I'm still on 2.5.8 is because 2.6.3 seems to lag with integrated Nagios Alerts.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

I do not get any error or other things i could report, i do only get no Spark.
Cordial Saludo

Does anyone know how to make Spark work in OSX Mavericks? It doesn't even launch.
Thanks

I need to disable chat history for EVERYONE in our company (Records retention policy)
The setting is is listed in preferences, but how do I force?
